Group Long Term Disability

Baptist Health provides Long Term Disability (LTD) as a core benefit for eligible, full-time employees (authorized to work 70 or more hours per pay period). LTD is a benefit paid to employees to reduce the loss of income that results from accidental bodily injury, illness or pregnancy which requires you to be away from work for an extended period of time.

If approved, providing adequate medical documentation is available, LTD coverage begins after 180 days away from work, and continues until you are released from your doctor’s care and are able to return to work, or until age 67.

The plan will pay 60% of your annual base salary, up to a $6,667 monthly maximum, as a benefit. The money you receive will be taxable income. This plan will begin paying when you have been off work for 180 days because of a disability (after filing a claim). Claims should be filed during the third month of a disability. LTD does coordinate with Social Security Disability (if received). Please contact Human Resources for the proper procedure and forms.

If you are a part-time employee (authorized to work 40-69 hours per pay period), you are eligible to purchase the LTD plan at your own cost.

Monthly income does not include shift differential.
